Guitars Over Guns offers students from our most vulnerable communities a powerful combination of music education and mentorship with professional musicians to help them overcome hardship, find their voice, and reach their potential as tomorrow’s leaders. We partner with public schools and community sites in Miami, Chicago, and Los Angeles to offer after-school and beyond-school programming that engages students in creative disciplines ranging from instrumental music, vocals, songwriting, and music production to rap and hip hop, creative writing, spoken word, and visual art. Students receive one-on-one and ensemble instruction, close mentoring relationships, academic support, and mental health & wellness coaching, all at no cost. It’s all because we believe that music, combined with strong, consistent mentorship, can reshape the trajectory of a student’s life.
