In May 2022 Guitars Over Guns officially opened its first Miami-based recording studio. The studio offers year-round access to area youth at no cost, with mixed media arts instruction including a recording booth, Dj-ing, music production, and instrumentation. The recording studio is the first of its kind in the South Dade area.

Romania Dukes leads the studio’s recruitment as Community Coordinator. Romania is well-known for her work in the community and for founding Mothers Fighting 4 Justice, a nonprofit supporting families who have lost their children to gun violence in Miami and South Miami-Dade.

GOGO Studio Homestead was made possible through the generous support of The Frederick A. DeLuca Foundation. Guitars Over Guns is also the proud recipient of the District 8 SafeSpaces Grant from Commissioner Danielle Cohen Higgins. Miami-Dade Parks & Recreation has provided the studio’s location at Live Like Bella Park. Additionally, the studio is supported by Shua Seif, a donor and lifelong music enthusiast.
